Ride beneath the soaring peaks of the Julian Alps, canter across emerald meadows, weave through the ancient forests of Triglav National Park, follow centuries-old trails through rolling vineyards and Mediterranean villages, and experience the legendary birthplace of the world-famous Lipizzaner horses.


    Horseback riding in Slovenia is unlike anywhere else in Europe. In just a few days, you’ll journey through an extraordinary variety of landscapes—from alpine mountains and crystal-clear rivers to lush forests, karst plateaus, and sun-drenched coastal countryside. With quiet trails, exceptional horses, welcoming local hosts, and a rich equestrian tradition, every ride offers a rare sense of freedom, connection, and discovery.

  • Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival & Bled Countryside

    Welcome to Lake Bled. Carriage ride around the lake, lunch, and Bled Cream Cake.

    2-hour introductory ride through forests, meadows, and villages.

    Evening: Traditional Slovenian dinner in medieval Radovljica; explore beekeeping and gingerbread heritage.

    Overnight: Bled.


    Day 2: Bled Castle & Riding

    Morning: 2-hour ride through the Bled region.

    Afternoon: Visit Bled Castle perched above the lake for panoramic alpine views.

    Evening: Dinner with alpine views.

    Overnight: Bled or Pokljuka region.


    Day 3: Triglav National Park & Island Church

    Morning: 3-hour ride around Bled, followed by a traditional Pletna boat ride to the island church (ring the wishing bell for good luck).

    Travel through Lake Bohinj deeper into Triglav National Park.

    Overnight: Bled or Pokljuka region.


    Day 4: Journey South to Mediterranean Region

    Optional: Foraging excursion with Dr. Fungi (wild mushrooms, herbs, forest wisdom; extra fee).

    Scenic ride through rolling hills, vineyards, and ancient villages in Slovenia’s southern Mediterranean region.

    Dinner & Overnight: Mediterranean region.


    Day 5: Mediterranean Trails & Lipica Estate

    Full day of riding across Mediterranean countryside and historical landscapes.

    Afternoon: Transfer to Lipica, birthplace of Lipizzaner horses. Check into Hotel Maestoso on the estate.

    Dinner & Overnight: Lipica.


    Day 6: Lipica Stud Farm & Ljubljana

    Tour the historic Lipica Stud Farm and learn about Lipizzaner heritage.

    Optional activities: Lipizzaner horse riding, wine tasting, or Adriatic excursions (extra fee).

    Afternoon: Transfer to Ljubljana.

    Overnight: Ljubljana.


    Day 7: Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle & Farewell

    Tour Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle (built into a towering cliff).

    Explore Ljubljana Marshes and Iški Vintgar Gorge.

    Evening: Farewell dinner celebrating the Alps-to-Adriatic journey.

    Overnight: Ljubljana.


    Day 8: Departure

    Free time to explore Ljubljana's Old Town, riverside cafés, and markets.

    Airport transfer or onward travel.
