Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Welcome
24/7 transfers provided. Settle in, enjoy a welcome lunch with mountain views, and go on a gentle introductory ride tailored to your experience. Relax in the hot tub or pool in the evening.
Day 2: Taste of the Countryside
Breakfast by the pool, followed by a scenic morning ride. After a fresh local lunch, spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool, attending a yoga session, or heading out for a second trail ride.
Day 3: Ride, Relax, or Explore
Customize your day: enjoy morning/afternoon rides or swap riding time for a massage, off-ranch excursion, cooking class, mixology workshop, or pool relaxation.
Day 4: Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary
A rest day for horses and riders. Travel to the butterfly sanctuary by car and hike or rent a local horse to reach the grove. Marvel at thousands of wintering monarchs before returning to the ranch.
Day 5: Ultimate Ranch Day
Choose a full-day trail ride, two half-day rides, or non-riding activities (massage, cooking, mixology, excursions, or lounging by the pool).
Day 6: Departure or Extended Stay
Short Stay: 24/7 departure transfers based on your schedule.
Full Week: Visit a local market, take a ride, or join another ranch activity. Enjoy lunch, afternoon relaxation, and an optional sunset ride.
Day 7: Custom Ranch Adventure
Full flexibility: opt for a full-day ride, split half-day rides, or alternate activities like spa treatments, classes, and pool relaxation.
Day 8: Departure

Unfortunately, I did not get to see the monarch butterflies because of the cartel violence that broke out on the day of my arrival in Mexico and made travel to certain areas unsafe. I was disappointed to miss the butterflies but happy to get an additional day of riding at the ranch.
I thoroughly enjoyed the riding, the yoga, the food, the hot tub, and the beautiful landscaping at Rancho Las Cascadas. The staff was excellent and so were the horses.
I would definitely go back again.
