    Looking for a less structured riding program, or don’t have a full week to spare? This is one of the only facilities that is able to offer daily accommodation and riding – to suit every riding level – and it’s SUPER fun!


    The herd of 28 horses range is size and scope from the most docile (kid friendly and appropriate) to the most “zippy” for those looking to “move out” and enjoy the thrill of letting their horse really “lay low and open up”.


    Choose from full day or half day rides. On full day rides a packed lunch is provided. On half day rides, riders come back to the ranch and enjoy a full homemade meal of local cuisine. And on all meals on any trip, dietary restrictions are no problem!


    When not riding, or when traveling with a non riding partner, enjoy yoga, meditation, tai chi, hiking, mountain biking, cooking classes, soaking in the hot tub or swimming in the lovely infinity pool.

    Endless Exploration: Over 30 Guided Trails

    Surrounded by mountains, forests, flat grasslands, and lakes, the ranch offers a magnificent, boundless riding experience. With no fences or gates, you have limitless space to explore on horseback. Meet our stunning herd of Criollo, Azteca, and Quarter-horses, learn the Mexican riding style, and spend anywhere from 1 to 7 hours a day in the saddle.


    The Riding Experience

    With over 30 routes, every day brings a new adventure. Trail highlights include:


    Scenic Rides: Journey through picturesque canyons, hike down to hidden waterfalls, and visit local lakes teeming with birdlife.


    Thrilling Paces: Enjoy fast-paced gallops across the highlands with Wild West-style scenery, or easy canters between cornfields.


    Cultural Trails: Ride to the Antigua Hacienda La Goleta (built in 1690) or visit local villages and tiendas to grab a drink and mingle with the community (bring cash for local refreshments).


    Sunset & Nature: Take evening rides to Puesto del Sol to watch the sunset before returning to groom and thank your horse.


    Dining & Ranch Amenities

    Fuel your adventures with freshly cooked breakfasts, home-cooked lunches (sometimes served under an oak tree by our private waterfall or out on the trail), and multi-course dinners blending Mexican and international cuisine.


    When you aren't riding, relax in the infinity pool or outdoor jacuzzi, play billiards and darts, enjoy the open bar/tequilas, or swap stories around the evening campfire.

    These add-on activities can be booked upon arrival to customize your vacation:


    Historical Day Trips: Visit the world heritage site of Teotihuacan (Pyramids of the Sun and Moon), Tula (Toltec history and Charro western wear shopping), or the Jesuit cathedral and colorful markets of Tepotzotlan.


    Wellness: Start your morning in the purpose-built yoga studio or treat yourself to a post-ride massage/spa treatment.


    Culinary: Unleash your inner chef with authentic Mexican cooking classes or a mixology cocktail course.

Last winter I asked Stacey where a good place to ride would be and to get out of the frigid winter in Maine for a moment. She suggested Mexico and off we went to Rancho las Cascadas.

I have been on many riding trips taking Stacey’s advice and booking through her company, always flying/riding solo..which I love and the rides were all amazing. This trip was the first trip I took with my partner. We both ride so it was just perfect, although there were couples where one person didn’t ride much and that seemed to work out also, the non riders would relax by the pool or take a side trip while the rider galloped like a crazy person through the Mexican desert. The food was perfect every meal, and the bar was open all the time…as in “open bar” for those who imbibe.

There were all types of riding abilities also, but somehow it all worked. The groups would split up into slow rides or fast rides, there were people riding that had never ridden before and they seemed to be smiling a lot as were the seasoned riders. All in all, it was just the trip I had hoped for and come to expect! We will be back…
